As we were embarking on our study of Shakespeare and Macbeth we talked about a lot of big ideas, specifically: what we want and what we are willing to do in order to get it. As we first started reading Macbeth things got heated quite swiftly. We started learning about the prophesies and then we got a good look at who Macbeth and Lady Macbeth truly are and what they are capable of. We quickly learned that Lady Macbeth and Macbeth were willing to do anything in order to become King Queen.
As the story progressed we saw Macbeth's desire for power grow and grow. He ended up killing his best friend in order to achieve his greatest desires. I feel that this relates to our whole year topic of "What Makes us Who We Are" because the decisions that Macbeth made in order to get what he wanted ultimately ended his life and builded up him character is the worst way possible.
